There is a doctrine that should convert the most incredulous for its enchantment and kindness.  This is related to the subject concerning guardian angels. Just think about the fact that you have near you beings who are your superiors, who are there to counsel you, to sustain you, to help you to escalate the difficult mountain of righteousness; who are more certain and dedicated friends than the most intimate relationships that you can establish on Earth; isn’t that a consoling idea? Those beings are there following God’s orders. It was God who placed them by your side. They are there out of love for God, thus accomplishing a beautiful and tough mission. Yes, they will be with you wherever you go. The dungeons, the hospitals, the places of mockery, the solitude, nothing separates you from those friends that you don’t see but whose kind impulse your soul feels, hearing their wise advices.

Had you known this reality better, how many times would that help you at moments of crisis! How many times would that save you from the hands of the bad spirits! However, on the great day this angel of goodness may tell you: “Haven’t I told you? And you did not do it. Haven’t I shown you the abyss? And you fell into that. Haven’t I made you hear the voice of truth in your conscience? Nevertheless, you followed the advices of lie.” Ah! Interrogate your guardian angels; establish with them this fond intimacy that reigns among the best of friends. Think not of hiding anything from them since theirs is God’s eyes and you cannot deceive them. Think of the future and endeavor to advance in this life. Thus your trials will be shorter and your existences happier. Go people, courage! Cast away your prejudices and hidden thoughts, once for all. Take the new path that opens up before you. March on; march on, since you have guides that you must follow. The target cannot frustrate you for the target is God Himself.

To those who think it is impossible for elevated spirits to attach themselves to such a laborious and constant task, we say that we influence your souls even by being millions of miles away from you. To us, space is nothing and even living in another world, our spirits keep the bonds with yours. We enjoy faculties that you cannot understand but be assured that God has not imposed on us a burden beyond our strength and that God did not abandon you without friends and support on Earth. Each guardian angel has his own protégé who it watches like a father over the son. It is happy when sees the child following the good path and suffers when its advices are neglected.

Don’t be afraid of bothering us with your questions. On the contrary, be always in touch with us, since you will then be stronger and happier. What makes all people mediums are these communications between each person with their familiar spirit – mediums who are ignored today but who will manifest later, spreading like a boundless ocean to keep incredulity and ignorance away. Educated people, educate; talented people, teach your brothers and sisters. You don’t know the work that you accomplish by doing so. It is the works of Christ which God imposes on you. Why would God have given you intelligence and Science but to share with your brothers and sisters and make them advance in the path of the eternal venture and happiness?

OBSERVATION: The doctrine of the guardian angels, watching over their protégés, despite the distance that separates the worlds, is not surprising. It is, on the contrary, grandiose and sublime. Don’t we see on Earth a parent watching over one’s child, even from a distance, helping with one’s advice and exchanging correspondence with them? What would then be strange in the fact that the spirits could guide those taken under their protection, from a world to the next, since for them the distance which separates the worlds is less than the one which separates the continents on Earth?

Il est une doctrine qui devrait convertir les plus incrédules par son charme et par sa douceur: celle des anges gardiens. Penser qu'on a toujours près de soi des êtres qui vous sont supérieurs, qui sont toujours là pour vous conseiller, vous soutenir, pour vous aider à gravir l'âpre montagne du bien, qui sont des amis plus sûrs et plus dévoués que les plus intimes liaisons que l'on puisse contracter sur cette terre, n'est-ce pas une idée bien consolante? Ces êtres sont là par l'ordre de Dieu; c'est lui qui les a mis près de nous, ils sont là pour l'amour de lui, et ils accomplissent auprès de nous une belle mais pénible mission. Oui, quelque part que vous soyez, il sera avec vous: les cachots, les hôpitaux, les lieux de débauche, la solitude, rien ne vous sépare de cet ami que vous ne pouvez voir, mais dont votre âme sent les plus douces impulsions et entend les sages conseils.

Que ne connaissez-vous mieux cette vérité! combien de fois elle vous aiderait dans les moments de crise, combien de fois elle vous sauverait des mains des mauvais Esprits! Mais au grand jour cet ange de bien aura souvent à vous dire: « Ne t'ai-je pas dit cela? et tu ne l'as pas fait; ne t'ai-je pas montré l'abîme, et tu t'y es précipité; ne t'ai-je pas fait entendre dans la conscience la voix de la vérité, et n'as-tu pas suivi les conseils du mensonge? » Ah! questionnez vos anges gardiens; établissez entre eux et vous cette tendre intimité qui règne entre les meilleurs amis. Ne pensez pas à leur rien cacher, car ils ont l'œil de Dieu, et vous ne pouvez les tromper. Songez à l'avenir, cherchez à avancer dans cette vie, vos épreuves en seront plus courtes, vos existences plus heureuses. Allons! hommes, du courage; rejetez loin de vous, une fois pour toutes, préjugés et arrière- pensées; entrez dans la nouvelle voie qui s'ouvre devant vous; marchez, marchez, vous avez des guides, suivez-les: le but ne peut vous manquer, car ce but, c'est Dieu lui-même.

A ceux qui penseraient qu'il est impossible à des Esprits vraiment élevés de s'astreindre à une tâche si laborieuse et de tous les instants, nous dirons que nous influençons vos âmes tout en étant à plusieurs millions de lieues de vous: pour nous l'espace n'est rien, et tout en vivant dans un autre monde, nos esprits conservent leur liaison avec le vôtre. Nous jouissons de qualités que vous ne pouvez comprendre, mais soyez surs que Dieu ne nous a pas imposé une tâche au-dessus de nos forces, et qu'ils ne vous a pas abandonnés seuls sur la terre sans amis et sans soutiens. Chaque ange gardien a son protégé sur lequel il veille, comme un père veille sur son enfant; il est heureux quand il le voit suivre le bon chemin, il gémit quand ses conseils sont méconnus.

Ne craignez pas de nous fatiguer de vos questions; soyez au contraire toujours en rapport avec nous: vous serez plus forts et plus heureux. Ce sont ces communications de chaque homme avec son Esprit familier, qui font tous les hommes médiums, médiums ignorés aujourd'hui mais qui se manifesteront plus tard, et qui se répandront comme un océan sans bornes pour refouler l'incrédulité et l'ignorance. Hommes instruits, instruisez; hommes de talents, élevez vos frères. Vous ne savez pas quelle œuvre vous accomplissez ainsi: c'est celle du Christ, celle que Dieu vous impose. Pourquoi Dieu vous a-t-il donné l'intelligence et la science, si ce n'est pour en faire part à vos frères, pour les avancer dans la voie du bonheur et de la félicité éternelle.

Remarque. - La doctrine des anges gardiens veillant sur leurs protégés malgré la distance qui sépare les mondes n'a rien qui doive surprendre; elle est au contraire grande et sublime. Ne voyons-nous pas sur la terre, un père veiller sur son enfant, quoiqu'il en soit éloigné, l'aider de ses conseils par correspondance? Qu'y aurait-il donc d'étonnant à ce que les Esprits pussent guider ceux qu'ils prennent sous leur protection, d'un monde à l'autre, puisque pour eux la distance qui sépare les mondes est moindre que celle qui, sur la terre, sépare les continents?
