Si vous n'aviez qu'une existence triste et mourante, on ne s'attaquerait point à vous, sachant bien que vous devez succomber d'un moment à l'autre ; mais comme votre vitalité est forte et active, comme l'arbre spirite a de fortes racines, on suppose qu'il peut vivre longtemps, et on essaie de la cognée contre lui. Que feront ces envieux ? Ils abattront tout au plus quelques branches qui repousseront avec une nouvelle sève et seront plus fortes que jamais.
